Terms of use
These terms govern your use of Formatly at www.formatly.space, including image converters, developer tools, and related pages. By using the site you agree to this document. If you do not agree, do not use the tools.
The service
Formatly provides free, browser-based utilities. Conversion, formatting, and encoding run in your browser using that browser’s APIs and, for some formats, WebAssembly codecs. Formatly does not operate a server-side conversion queue and does not require an account. Availability, catalogs, and features may change without notice.
As-is, no warranty
The site and tools are provided free of charge, as-is, and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that output will be accurate, complete, lossless, color-managed, or accepted by a third-party system. Codecs, browsers, and source files differ; a conversion that looks correct on one machine may differ on another.
You are responsible for keeping originals, checking results before you share or archive them, and deciding whether a format change is appropriate. Do not rely on Formatly as the only copy of a photo, document, or payload.
Acceptable use
Use Formatly only with files you are allowed to process. Do not use the tools for illegal content, to violate another person’s rights, or to attack, scan, or overload the site. Do not attempt to bypass security controls, scrape the service in a way that disrupts it, or misrepresent the output as created by someone else when that would be misleading.
Automated access that ignores robots.txt or hammers endpoints is not permitted. Reasonable indexing by public search engines is welcome.
Your files
Image and text files you drop into a converter are processed locally in the current browser session. Formatly does not receive those bytes for conversion. You keep whatever rights you already had in the files. We claim no ownership of your inputs or outputs. See privacy and security for product behavior. Ordinary web logs and analytics for HTML pages are separate from conversion bytes.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Formatly and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or business interruption, arising from use of the site or inability to use it — even if advised that such damage was possible. Total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to zero because the tools are provided free of charge. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, liability is limited to the minimum permitted.
Changes
We may update these terms by publishing a new version on this page. The “last updated” date below is the effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
